Vulcan XM607 on display at RAF Waddington, caught here just before sunset, 607 was the jet that carried out the famous "Black Buck One" mission, dropping 21 1000Lb bombs on the airfield at Port Stanley during the 1982 Falklands conflict.
From understudy to star performer of the first 'Black Buck' mission during the Falklands Conflict in 1982, her story is told in great detail in the book 'Vulcan 607' written by Rowland White - well worth a read.
She has not moved for several years now but the former Falklands "Black Buck" veteran is still a popular attraction outside Hangar 3 at the annual RAF Waddington Airshow.
